₹9,999 and 5 to 7 working days. That is the price and the wait for a professionally prepared business plan in Kolkata, and both numbers are small against the cost of a weak one. A rejected loan file sets a business back a quarter, sometimes more once the branch asks for fresh papers. We prepare plans that survive the first reading, priced for the city they describe.
What does business plan preparation mean in Kolkata?
The document itself is national. An executive summary, a market case, three year projections, an operating plan and a risk section make up a complete plan anywhere in India. Those sections are covered in depth in business plan preparation in India explained. What changes here is the audience and the arithmetic. Your reader sits in a Kolkata bank branch or an investor meeting, and your cost base carries West Bengal levies that a downloaded template has never heard of. A plan prepared for this city prices them in from the first draft.
Who in Kolkata should have a plan professionally prepared?
Anyone asking a stranger for money, in short. Four patterns reach us most often:
- A family jewellery house in Bowbazar moving from an informal setup to a company, where the bank wants three years of projections before extending working capital for stock.
- An engineering unit in Howrah applying for a machinery loan under an MSME scheme and needing repayment capacity shown plainly.
- A wholesaler near Burrabazar converting supplier credit into a proper bank limit.
- A founder in Salt Lake Sector V preparing numbers before a first equity conversation.
The Bowbazar case deserves a longer word. Jewellery families modernising after two or three generations usually hold excellent instincts and thin paperwork. Turnover is real, margins are known to the paisa, yet nothing is written the way a credit officer needs it. Our CAs translate that working knowledge into statements a lender can process, without pretending the business is something it is not.
Who actually reads your plan in Kolkata?
No registrar stamps a business plan, which surprises many first time borrowers. The readers are people. A branch credit officer checks whether projected cash covers the proposed EMI. A scheme assessor checks eligibility against the numbers. Kolkata's MSME Development and Facilitation Office runs vendor development programs and handles scheme facilitation for units across West Bengal, and a plan aligned with what a scheme rewards moves faster through it. Investors read the summary first and the assumptions second. When the plan convinces you to incorporate, the filings that follow go to ROC West Bengal through the MCA V3 portal, and your new CIN carries the WB state code. A good plan anticipates that next step instead of stopping at the sanction letter.
What will we ask you for?
There is no statutory checklist for a business plan, so we ask for what you actually have.
- Sales figures for the last one to three years, in whatever form they survive.
- Purchase costs, rent, salaries and the loans already running.
- GST returns where the business is registered.
- Your own reading of where demand is heading.
Informal books are normal here and nothing to apologise for. Plenty of trading houses around Burrabazar and Bowbazar run on khata entries and supplier memory, with genuine turnover underneath. A chartered accountant on our team reconstructs workable statements from such records, and we say so honestly when a figure cannot be defended.
How long does preparation take in Kolkata?
Five to seven working days once your information is complete, and the second condition matters more than the first. The sequence runs:
- Day 1: consultation call and a checklist matched to your purpose.
- Days 2 to 3: data gathering, with reconstruction where books are informal.
- Days 3 to 5: drafting and financial modelling by a CA.
- Days 6 to 7: your review, revisions and delivery in PDF and Word.
A submission deadline changes the order of work, not the quality. Mention it on the first call and we plan the week backwards from your date.
What does business plan preparation cost in Kolkata?
Our fee for a standard plan is ₹9,999, and this is where it goes.
| Cost head | What you get | In the ₹9,999 fee |
|---|---|---|
| Financial modelling | Three year projections, cash flow and break even analysis | Included |
| Market research | Demand and competitor mapping for your trade and locality | Included |
| Drafting | Executive summary through risk assessment, formatted for submission | Included |
| Revisions | Changes after your review, before anything is submitted | Included |
| Lender and investor editions | Two tailored versions where both audiences must be served | Quoted separately |
A complex brief, or one plan serving several purposes, can move the figure. You receive the exact quote on the free consultation call before paying anything.
Which West Bengal costs do template plans miss?
Local preparation earns its fee here, because a lender spots a missing statutory line faster than anything else. Three examples come up constantly.
Profession tax first. West Bengal expects an employer to register and deduct profession tax for staff, while the business itself holds an enrolment. The levy never exceeds ₹2,500 a year for any one person, and the monthly deduction for salaried staff peaks at ₹200. Delhi levies no such tax, which is exactly why national templates skip the line.
Municipal enlistment second. Within Kolkata Municipal Corporation limits, the trade license is formally a Certificate of Enlistment, renewed each year through kmcgov.in, and the fee moves with the trade and the ward across all 144 of them. The authority changes with the address: Salt Lake falls to Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, New Town belongs to the NKDA, and Howrah runs its own corporation. A projection carrying the wrong renewal line, or none, reads as careless.
Thresholds third. GST registration becomes compulsory in West Bengal once goods turnover crosses ₹40 lakh, or ₹20 lakh for services. EPF applies from 20 employees and ESI from 10. A growth plan that crosses any of these must show the compliance cost arriving in the right year. We map each threshold against your own numbers while the projections are built.
