Can 10 of us register a producer company in Pune, and who signs off on it? ROC Pune does, because the registrar follows the registered office and Pune district is a registry of its own. The group has to be 10 individual producers or 2 producer institutions, and every member has to be a primary producer in fact rather than on paper.
The group that walks in is usually a mixed one. Growers with land around Baramati, and an engineering and machining unit at Bhosari that already exports and wants the produce moving through a corporate entity instead of through traders.
Which structure do you have to settle before a single form goes up?
The first decision is not which form to file. It is whether the people signing are producers at all. Membership follows primary produce, so farming, horticulture, dairy, fisheries, forestry, handloom and cottage industry work all count. A group of 10 growers clears that test comfortably. A trainer who teaches farming but produces nothing does not, and it is better to hear that on the first call than after a name has been reserved.
Two further decisions belong here rather than later. The name has to end with the words Producer Company Limited, so a reservation ending in Private Limited comes back rejected. The board runs on 5 to 15 directors drawn from the membership, which means the group settles who signs before we open a single DSC application.
Which papers does a grower group have to assemble first?
Paperwork sits high up here for a reason. What stalls a producer company file is almost always a member proof. The registry rarely is.
- PAN and Aadhaar for every subscriber and every proposed director, with the name spelled the same way on both.
- Evidence that each member is a primary producer, which means land records in the member's own name for a farming group, or the papers of the body they supply for a dairy or fisheries group.
- Registered office proof, being a current utility bill and a no objection letter from the owner. Rented premises at Kharadi or Pimpri also need the leave and licence agreement, compulsorily registrable in Maharashtra.
- Contact details that genuinely reach each member, because the DSC video verification calls every one of them in turn.
A grower group is almost never sitting inside one taluka of the district, so budget the first week for the collection alone. That week is the part a group can control. The rest is queue time.
What does producer company registration cost in Pune?
Two numbers move here. Ours is fixed, and the government side follows the capital and the instrument.
| Line item | What it pays for | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| LegalX India fee | Name to certificate, MoA and AoA, ROC filing, PAN and TAN | ₹6,999 onwards |
| Digital signatures | One DSC for each of the 10 subscribing members | Included |
| Director numbers | DIN for the 5 directors on the first board | Included |
| MCA charges | Name reservation and the incorporation forms | At actuals |
| Stamp duty on the MoA and AoA | Charged by the state on the instrument | Computed before filing |
Stamp duty in Maharashtra depends on the instrument and value; we compute the exact figure before execution. Quoting a flat percentage now would only give the group something to unlearn later. The ₹6,999 is the incorporation fee. A change of name afterwards, or an increase in capital once the group grows, is quoted on its own.
How the filing runs, form by form
- Member list and consents, so the subscribers and the first board are fixed before anything is drafted.
- DSC for every subscriber and director, each verified by video on the member's own phone.
- Name reservation on MCA V3, with the Producer Company Limited ending and a second choice held back.
- MoA and AoA drafted around the produce the group actually trades in, then the incorporation forms with PAN and TAN attached to the same set.
- ROC Pune processes the file and issues the Certificate of Incorporation, and we hand over the CIN with the PAN and TAN.
Your office address is in Pune district, so who holds the file?
ROC Pune holds it. The MCA directory carries Pune as a separate registry, with a Registrar and contact details of its own, and the address written on the form is what sends a file there. The registrar restructuring that commenced on 16 February 2026 left Pune alone, so nothing about the filing route for a Pune group changed that day. No member has to appear anywhere in person either.
Afterwards the company carries state code MH in its CIN and answers to ROC Pune for its annual filings, all of them on MCA V3. Pune sits under the Regional Director, Western Region Directorate II, headquartered at Navi Mumbai, which is where the applications that sit above a registrar are heard.
What does a new Pune producer company owe in its first months?
The certificate starts a clock rather than stopping one.
- The commencement declaration in INC-20A goes up once the subscription money is genuinely in the company's bank account, within 180 days of incorporation.
- The board appoints the first auditor within 30 days, and ADT-1 follows that appointment.
- Two profession tax numbers, never one. PTEC is the company's own enrolment in Maharashtra. PTRC is the authority to deduct from salaries, so that second one is taken once a payroll exists.
- Staff in a Pune office bring the Shops Act into play. Registration under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act 2017 goes online to the Facilitator, who sits under the Labour Department of the state rather than at any municipal counter. An ordinance in 2025 lifted the registration threshold while the consolidated text still reads the old way, so we check which position governs on the day your form goes up.
- EPF coverage starts at 20 employees and ESI at 10 or more, and those two thresholds run the opposite way round, so headcount gets checked rather than assumed.
Who is registering a producer company in Pune right now?
- The Bhosari engineering and machining unit above. The workshop cannot be a member on its own account, so the 10 subscribers are the growers, and the unit trades with the company as a buyer.
- A dairy group that has sold through traders for years and now wants a bank account, a GSTIN and a supply contract in the group's own name.
- A coaching and edtech operator at Shivajinagar asked to register one for a farm training programme. Nobody in that group produces anything, so the structure is wrong, and we say so before any money moves.
What goes wrong on a producer company file?
Producer company work goes wrong quietly. A name ending in Private Limited, a member who is not a producer, an office proof that does not match the address on the form. Our CA and CS team runs the whole file online from Pune, quotes ₹6,999 before starting, and calls back within 30 minutes. More than 15,000 businesses have used us, and 10+ years of that work is company filing. For the law behind the structure, read the national producer company registration guide.
